🎖️ Why DofE is Great for Explorer Scouts

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a fantastic opportunity for Explorer Scouts to challenge themselves, gain confidence, and build real-life skills – all while having fun.

At St George’s Mill Hill, Dragon Explorers are perfectly placed to complete Bronze, Silver, or even Gold Awards. From volunteering and learning new skills to taking on exciting expeditions, DofE fits naturally into the Explorer programme.

It’s a great way to stand out on CVs and uni applications, grow independence, and make amazing memories along the way.

Kings Award for Voluntary Service 2024

We are honoured to announce that St George’s Mill Hill Scout Group has been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service for 2024.
This is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.

We’ve got our own activity centre. That’s different.

Canalside is our own Outdoor Activity and Environment Centre based in Mill Hill, Blackburn. A small team of volunteers runs the centre and it has been developed for use by local Scouts, Guides and other Community Groups to ensure people have affordable access to learn and have fun outdoors in a safe environment.

Partnered with British Canoeing

We’re partnered with British Canoeing to help deliver qualifications to our young people and adult volunteers.
